What is Proof?
An app to plan your outings, do them and keep the proof. You save the places you crave, you go, you take a shot on site, and your friends know it's worth it. Places tested and approved.
What exactly is a shot?
A photo taken on site, the moment you are there, with your rating. It is the only way to review on Proof: impossible to rate a place from your couch. That is what makes the recs reliable.
How do I share my addresses with friends?
In one move. Someone asks for your bar addresses? Send your playlist, or your whole notebook. And you can keep lists together, like a brunch list everyone fills. No need to remember everything, it is already sorted.
When does it launch?
The app is in the making and will be available on the App Store. We give no date until we are sure to keep it. A question in the meantime: support@proofplaces.com.
Is it free?
Yes. No subscription, no crippled version, no payment in the app.
Will it be on Android?
We focus on iPhone first. Android comes next.
Where does it work?
Technically, everywhere: you can save and prove any place in the world. Your circle builds where your friends are.
How is it different from classic reviews?
Classic reviews come from strangers, sometimes from people who never came. On Proof, a rec comes from someone you follow, with proof taken on site. You know who is talking, and you know they were there.
Who sees my shots?
Your friends, meaning the people you follow who follow you back. No one else, except what you yourself choose to make public or share by link. And everything is set in the app, under Settings then Privacy.
What do you do with my data?
The site collects very little: your email address if you join the list, and it is written in black and white in the site's privacy policy, made to be read in full. The app will have its own, published with it, detailing purpose by purpose what it does with your account, your shots and your lists.
How do I report content?
Every shot, profile and message has a Report button, two taps away, and a human handles every report. For a security flaw: support@proofplaces.com with "Security" in the subject, details on the security page.
What is the minimum age for Proof?
15. Sign-up refuses any date of birth under that threshold, and 15-18 accounts are never used for individual ad targeting. Details on the child safety page.
